Short version: Vayu does not collect, store, or share any personal information. The app works entirely on your device. No account is required. No data leaves your phone.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how ZanshinLab ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile application Vayu: Breathe & Calm ("the App"), available on Google Play.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

  • Name, email address, or any account credentials
  • Location data (GPS or network-based)
  • Health data or biometric information
  • Contact list, camera, or microphone access
  • Device identifiers linked to your identity
  • Browsing history or usage patterns sent to our servers

No account creation is required. The App can be used fully offline after installation.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data exclusively on your device using your phone's local storage (localStorage). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

  • Breathing session history (technique used, duration, cycles)
  • Streak count and session statistics
  • Mood ratings you enter before and after sessions
  • Your selected personal goal (sleep, stress, focus, energy)
  • App preferences (Eyes-Closed Mode on/off)
  • Earned badges and daily challenge status

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by using the Reset All Progress option within the App, or by uninstalling the App.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, a service operated by Google LLC. AdMob may collect and use certain data to serve relevant ads, including:

  • Advertising ID (a resettable, anonymous identifier assigned by Android)
  • General device information (OS version, screen size)
  • Approximate location based on IP address (country/region level only)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

This data is collected by Google, not by us. We do not receive or store any advertising data. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Ads are shown only when you take an action in the App (e.g., starting a session or navigating between screens). Ads are never shown during an active breathing or meditation session.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time in your Android device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

The App uses the following third-party service:

We do not use any analytics services, crash reporting tools, social media SDKs, or any other third-party libraries that collect user data.

7. Permissions

The App may request the following Android permission:

  • com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID — required by Google AdMob to serve advertisements. This permission accesses only the resettable Android Advertising ID and is not used for any other purpose.

The App does not request permissions for camera, microphone, contacts, location, or storage.

8. Data Security

Since no personal data is transmitted to our servers, there is no server-side data to secure. All data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's own security mechanisms (screen lock, encryption).

9. Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal information held by us that you would need to request access to, correct, or delete. All data is stored locally on your device and is under your full control.

To delete all App data, use Reset All Progress within the App or uninstall the App from your device.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
